The taking of Stirling Bridge over the Forth by the Scots marks the point where the first great battle of the Scottish wars of independence was won. The heavily equipped English army, now divided into two, struggle to fight in the heavy ground of the river plain. In the centre the Scots Captain Wallace can be seen slaying treasurer Cressingham, while to the right lies a fatally wounded Sir Andrew de Moray.
A very large and impressive painting.

Private William Jones VC is shown in the art print standing in fornt of the doorway in the hospital as the Zulu warriors break into the hospital and rush the entrance. Private Robert Jones. Decorated for conspicuous bravery and devotion to the wounded at Rorkes drift. Private Robert and William Jones, posted in a room of the Hospital facing the hill, kept up a steady fire against enormous odds, and while one worked to cut a hole through the partition into the next room, the other shot Zulu after Zulu through the loophooled walls, using his own and his comrades rifle alternatively when the barrels became to hot to hold owing to the incessant firing. By their united heroic efforts six out of the seven patients were saved by being carried through the broken partition. the seventh, sergeant Maxwell being delirious, refused to be helped, and on Robert Jones returning to take him by force he found him being stabbed by the Zulus in his bed, Robert Jones died in 1898 in Peterchurch Herefordshire. Both men were awarded the Victoria Cross.

Syrian commandos and Republican Guard T72M tanks in the Bekkaa valley during the Israeli Peace for Galilee operation. It should be noted that although belonging to an elite unit, these tanks usually appeared minus a number of standard items, including side skirts, snorkel and even headlights, giving them a generally dilapidated appearance. They also employed the old Duska 12.7mm HMG rather than the new NSVT UTES anti-aircraft machine gun system.

For reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel, it was business as usual for the first Formula 1 race of 2011 in Melbourne, the German securing a dominant pole position in qualifying and following it up with a decisive win the following day in the Red Bull RB7. Johnny Herbert is shown in the Benetton B195. Herbert took a deserved victory at his home British Grand Prix at Silverstone, beating the Ferrari of Frenchman Jean Alesi into second place by more than 16 seconds, and ahead of fellow briton David Coulthard in the third placed Williams. He also claimed victory at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Along with Michael Schumachers nine victories, Herbert helped Benetton win their first constructors championship in the 1995 season. The Formula One Benetton B195 was designed by Rory Byrne and Ross Brawn for use in the 1995 Formula One season by Benetton. The B195 was almost identical to the B194 but for a change of engine supplier from Ford to Renault V10 engine, the same type the rival Williams team was using. With his first two Formula One wins under his belt in 1995, Johnny Herbert won just one more race, winning at the Nurburgring at the European Grand Prix in 1999, racing for Stewart Ford. He retired from Formula One in 2000.

The only four engined heavy bomber to serve with the Regia Aeronautica, the Piaggio P.108 was built in too few numbers to have any significant effect in the Italian air campaign in World War Two, but was a worthy aircraft with several innovative design features, not least the remotely controlled gun barbettes in the outer engine nacelles. Most notable of the P.108's achievements were a number of daring night time raids on Gibraltar, as depicted here, flying from 274a Squadriglia's base at Decimomannu on Sardinia.
